Favourite memory
“Having a sing-song led by my Dad until the sun came up, surrounded by friends and family from home and away, who really embraced the ‘craic’”, the bride shared.
Personal Touches
“We wouldn’t consider ourselves traditionalists and decided to do our speeches very informally during our drinks reception in a really relaxed setting. This allowed both Dads the chance to unwind and enjoy themselves during the meal and gave the bride the courage to make a spur of the moment speech of her own,” Yvonne said.
A helping hand
“A wonderful lady working in the hotel who came to the rescue on the morning of the wedding when I accidently snagged the sleeve on one of the bridesmaids’ dresses while taking it off the hanger. On hearing of the minor drama, the Listowel Arms staff had it whipped off and repaired in no time, like magic. A perfect dress was returned to the bridal suite literally in minutes”, Yvonne said.
Advice for brides planning a wedding
“Make sure you get ready in a peaceful, organised place on the morning of your wedding. I decided to get ready at the hotel with just my mom, sisters and little niece. It was a special time for me to spend with the ladies who mattered the most to me throughout my life. Everything was stress free and I couldn’t have been calmer going into the church,” Yvonne advised.
How was your experience with the Listowel Arms Hotel?
“It was a beautiful, intimate venue decorated perfectly on the day with every little detail considered. The subtle but elegant style we wanted was captured beautifully. The atmosphere the Listowel Arms creates for weddings is magical as no two weddings are the same and each couple’s personal style can shine. It’s like celebrating your special day in an enchanted venue that feels as inviting as your own home. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the wedding. They were made to feel so welcome by all the Listowel Arms staff which meant the world to us, as many of our guests had made a huge effort to be there on our special day.”
