Poland native Dominika Papierowska and Limerick man David Hogan first met when working in the same supermarket. Introduced by a mutual work friend, the pair only exchanged shy hellos for a few months but finally hit it off at Christmas party. “We actually had our first kiss outside the venue where we would eventually get married,” Dominika reveals. It was during a Valentine’s Day weekend away in Killarney where David popped the question, and of course Dominika said yes. Following that, the wedding date was set to August 31, 2018 with a ceremony in St. Mary’s Church in Rathkeale, followed by a beautiful reception in Longcourt House Hotel.

David says seeing Dominika at the top of the aisle was the highlight of his day, while they both recall their first dance as a special memory as well. “My daughters’, my dad’s and David’s faces when they saw me on the day will stay with me forever,” Dominika says. Dominika also treasures the memory of dancing with her father during the reception.

The pair recall their wedding’s hybrid of Irish and Polish traditions as being particularly personal and significant in their day’s success. David also recalls a gift he received from Dominika for the wedding as being particularly person. “She got me a medallion that clips into the inside of my suit, containing a photo of my late brother Paul,” David explains.

How was your experience with Longcourt House Hotel?

We couldn’t have picked a better venue for our big day. All the staff there did an amazing job and made our big day so special. Myself and David are so thankful for everything they did to make our day so great.  Working with Sales Manager Triona and the staff was an absolute pleasure. Triona was always there for me and did everything and more for us. I have found a good friend in Triona and working with her was amazing. Even our kids absolutely loved her. I wouldn’t change anything about or day, it was perfect in every way.”
