London-born Danielle O’Keefe and Limerick lad Brian Wrenn met accidentally in 2010 over a coffee in Durty Nellies, Bunratty.  “We rarely get out as we have three children, but I was desperate to see Fifty Shade of Grey! When we got home, Brian kept dropping hints about rings and champagne. As I was making a cup of tea he disappeared and returned with a little black box. We had talked about getting married and had even looked at rings, and he had gone up to Ennis and picked the ring that I had admired. It was a perfect proposal as it was at home, intimate and just about the two of us,” Danielle shared.

The couple decided to tie the knot on May 26,2018, with The Strand Hotel being the perfect venue for their Humanist Ceremony. The couple chose to have a very intimate wedding with  76 guests and had both the ceremony and dinner reception in the hotel’s City View Suite.

Danielle and Brian incorporated the Kerry tradition of ‘The Warming of the Rings’ and the age-old hand-fasting ceremony. “The love and happiness in the room was infectious. It was the most relaxed ceremony I’ve ever been at and it was my own wedding,” Danielle reveals.

Danielle’s ring carries unique sentimental value which means a lot to her. “My wedding ring was very special we melted down half of my mother’s wedding ring and put it in my wedding band,” Danielle reveals.

How was your experience with The Strand Hotel Limerick?

“I certainly would not hesitate to recommend The Strand Hotel. The City View Suite looked absolutely spectacular for our ceremony and reception. All our guests commented on how beautiful the view was and what an amazing job the hotel had done. We dealt with Aisling Casey and she was incredibly professional and highly attentive to every detail, which made the whole process of planning a wedding so easy.”
