Fiona O’Malley and Stephen Foster were introduced to each other through their cousins and sparks flew immediately. They had begun to build a life together and soon Stephen was planning on popping the question. “Stephen had a ‘mystery tour’ weekend planned for us. It started with us going to a Munster match in Thomond park on the Saturday (they won), followed by us heading off to a surprise location on the Sunday. Before we left, Stephen made me breakfast and then produced a gorgeous ring alongside the rashers and eggs. I just had to say yes because I really wanted to go on the ‘mystery tour’! It worked out well in the end though I have to say!”, the bride shared.

This beautiful proposal lead to a romantic wedding at the Lakeside Hotel in Killaloe on November 24, 2018.

Memorable Moments

“Our favourite moment was at the very end of the night, the DJ played Maniac 2000. Loads of us were dancing on the stage giving it welly! Looking down and around us, Stephen and I could see all our family and friends, from aged in their teens to their eighties, fist pumping and jiving away to that classic tune. I’m surprised the stage didn’t give way with all the foot stamping and jumping around! To see all those people who had made our day so special, all dancing and singing like no one was watching, it was incredible. It the perfect ending to a perfect day!”, remembers Fiona.

How was your experience with Baker Photography?

Ken is a great photographer, he is really creative and willing to go to any lengths for the perfect shot. His real talent though is how he makes everyone feel relaxed and at ease, we actually had fun while taking the photos! Having been to more than our fair share of weddings, when we were planning our own there were a few people we knew we wanted to deal with and Ken Baker was one of them. He is so friendly and relaxed; he makes you feel at ease throughout the day. Behind this he is the utmost professional, he knows weddings like the back of his hand and, thanks to his mother Rose, he is prepared for everything. He even produced a crochet needle on the day to help button up my dress! His advice on timing when planning the day was invaluable, and ran so smoothly because of it.”

How was your experience with The Lakeside Hotel?

In looking for a venue for our wedding the few requirements we had were great food, great service and great location. The Lakeside in Killaloe has all of this and more. Catherine Lewis is a pleasure to deal with, she is so helpful and reassuring, she went above and beyond when dealing with any request we had. The day went off without a hitch, the staff were brilliant and the food was amazing, everyone was complimenting it“, says the bride.
