A night out in Abbeyfeale was the first meeting for Orla Cotter and Arthur Murphy, but after spotting the beautiful dental nurse years later at her workplace, Arthur fell hook line and sinker for Orla and built up the courage to ask her out. Christmas Eve 2015 would be the setting for their engagement, an obvious choice as it is Orla’s favourite time of the year. “Any other day and she may have not have said yes!”, the groom jokingly shared. “. It was very special as Orla’s Dad had sadly passed away, but her mom and sister were there. She was not expecting it.”, Arthur added.
With a Christmas proposal a given, deciding to have a festive wedding was no surprise form the winter loving Orla. A date was set for December 16, 2017 with a ceremony at St Mary’s Church followed by a dreamy reception at The Devon Inn, where the couple were joined by family and friends and Arthur’s son Tristan joined his Dad at the altar.

MOST MEMORIBLE MOMENTS
“My most memorable moment on the day has to be holding my wife for the first dance while my son sang ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran. Its something that will forever make me smile every time I think about it.”, Arthur recalls.
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AT THE DEVON INN?
“We didn’t agree on everything when planning our wedding, but our venue was the one thing we agreed on without hesitation and we are so glad we chose the Devon Inn. From our first meeting with Mary, she was absolutely amazing in providing the perfect setting, great atmosphere, amazing food just making our day so special. She went above and beyond in making this happen. The hotel looked amazing and more beautiful than we ever imagined, and the food was amazing. There was no job too big or too small and we are so thankful to you all. We cannot recommend The Devon Inn, Mary and her amazing team enough.”
