Accountant Sandra Reynolds and carpenter Brian Hassett, both from Co. Clare, first met in Johno’s Bar, Ennis and those initial sparks lead to a Christmas time proposal in 2016. “The day before Christmas Eve, sitting by the fire with my dog and cat, Brian came in, went down on one knee and proposed,” Sandra recalls. The couple decided on March 16, 2018 as the date for their dream day, with a ceremony in Quin Church, Co. Clare followed by a stunning reception in The Inn at Dromoland.

Memorable moments

Ever the romantics, Sandra says her favourite moment was walking up the aisle to her husband-to-be, while Brian said entering the function room as bride and groom was his highlight.

Sandra also recalls seeing the ceremony decorations for the first time as a notable moment, extending gratitude to Grace Events. “The church felt magical as I walked in and the function room was full of spring colours,” she remembers.

Advice for brides planning their wedding

“Order your invites and get them out two months before the wedding. You’re going to be busy in the weeks coming up to the wedding so don’t leave things until the last minute,” Sandra advises.

Tell us about your experience with The Inn at Dromoland?

“The Inn at Dromoland were so easy to deal with and we couldn’t have asked for anything more from our venue. They were so accommodating and the service that we and our guests received on the day was amazing. I would recommend The Inn at Dromoland to anyone thinking of getting married there. Claire the wedding coordinator was totally amazing and helped us plan and organise our wedding.  Nothing was too much trouble for her and her attention to detail is superb. A special mention to the Chef Fergal as the food was excellent, the service was brilliant and all the staff was so friendly. The Front Office Manager Olive was so helpful and obliging in helping us sort out all accommodation needs.”
