It was an office romance that changed the lives of Elaine Holmes and Aidan Fitzgerald
nine years ago. Elaine originally from Cappamore, works in HR at the AIB in
Ballsbridge, Dublin.

Aidan,
originally from Castlejordan, Co. Offaly works in finance for Ryanair in
Swords, Dublin. They are living happily together in Clontarf. The
couple spent some time living in Melbourne, Australia where Aidan proposed a
week before they returned home to Ireland.

Aidan had booked into the Crown
Hotel in

Melbourne
as part of my 30th birthday present, we were living in Melbourne at the time
and it was our last week there before moving home. He proposed in the hotel
room wearing a bathrobe while we were getting ready to head out for dinner, so
he caught me completely off guard! Elaine told her sister Mary first as she was
still in work near the hotel in Melbourne.

It was
lovely to be able to celebrate with family first even when we were on the other
side of the world. Very soon a date was set for March 18, 2016 at Cappamore
Church followed by a reception at the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh, Co.
Tipperary.

THE
WEDDING PARTY

Elaines sisters Mary, Aisling and Sinead Holmes
were bridesmaids. Aidans brother, James Fitzgerald , and his two friends, Shane
Rushe and Keith Walsh were groomsmen. Aidans nephew, Cian Cusack, was page boy
and the honorary flowergirl was Elaines four month old niece Aoife Ryan.

THE WEDDING TEAM
Elaines
fabulous wedding flowers were supplied by Patricia Irwin of Ring O Roses.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple went for a unique cake of
cheese wheels and it was finished off with personalised Lego figurines as cake toppers
which were an engagement gift from Aidans sister Orla. We also had a candy cart
in the reception area and a photo frame with props to bring out peoples silly
side! The invitations were supplied by Splash Graphics, Kevin Daly was the
videographer and Baker Photography looked after the couples photographs.

Having
tried on close to twenty dresses, Elaine chose a Fara Sposa design from Kathy
De Stafford in Nenagh. She chose a single layer full length veil and diamante
and pearl headpiece from the same store.

Kerry
Jane Hurley and Paul Quinn set the scene in Cappamore church with their musical
talent. Their song choice for the first dance was Walk The Moons Shut up and
Dance as they wanted something fun and modern with lovely lyrics to get the
party started!

CHERISHED MOMENTS
My favourite
memory was walking up the aisle with my father, its one of those special
moments I will always cherish.

Also just
having everyone who means so much to Aidan and me in one place dancing the
night away, shares Elaine. The funniest moment during the wedding was when the priest
introduced us as Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy after marrying us instead of Mr. and
Mrs. Fitzgerald!

Both
families stayed for a second night at the hotel. We had booked a meal in the
Abbey Court, there was about 30 of us and we had a lovely room to ourselves for
the meal, it was lovely to have everyone around for a second day together before
everyone went their separate ways.

Aidan had
the most input in choosing the suits, speeches and most importantly planning a
wedding wine trip to France! The newlyweds visited Barcelona for a few days
after the wedding and are looking into a bigger holiday later in the year, we
wanted a trip to plan and look forward to after the wedding said Elaine.

How was your experience working with Baker Photography?

The
minute we met Rose Petal and Kenneth we knew we wanted them to capture our
special day. Rose Petal was amazing to work with, she put everyone at ease and
created a really relaxed environment on the day. She was such a professional and
got the shots she wanted quickly and it really all felt so easy. Also it was
Kenneth who suggested going to Dromineer for photos in our first meeting and it
was just so perfect on the day!
