Insurance agent Aisling Martin and construction worker Kenneth Conroy  met in Mojos nightclub, Mullingar and this encounter sparked a romance that has withstood the test of time. After a proposal outside Aherlow House Hotel in the heart of the surrounding mountains, the couple knew this location was the ideal venue for their reception, with the nearby Bansha church as host for their serene ceremony. With the date set for May 19 2018, the couple began planning their blissful Bansha ceremony.

Memorable moments

The couple truly valued every moment that they got to spend in the sensational scenery which surround Aherlow House Hotel.  “The drive through the mountains in the afternoon and the pictures we took at Christ the Redeemer were absolutely breath-taking,” Ashling says. The atmosphere and tranquillity of the area truly made them feel like their wedding was taking place in a natural utopia.

Kenneth also says he has fond memories of the drinks reception on the venue’s veranda which he will treasure forever. “We were blessed with good weather on the day which made the location even more beautiful, and the reception overlooking the Galtee mountains was truly amazing. I’ve never experienced anything like it,” Kenneth adds. The cosy and comfy atmosphere of the reception allowed the couple to feel relaxed on their big day and ensured they got to enjoy every moment surrounded by their loved ones.

The presence of family and loved ones was truly touching for the couple, as having relatives and friends flying home to Ireland for their big day meant a great deal to them. In addition, they are highly appreciative to have had the opportunity to share this celebration with their beloved elderly relatives. Being surrounded by all the friends they have made both apart and together throughout the years was also an important aspect of the couple’s ideal wedding, as the wedding would not have felt truly personal to them without the presence of those loved ones.

How was your experience with Aherlow House Hotel?

“What an amazing time we had in Aherlow House Hotel. Eve our Weddings & Events Manager made the entire wedding planning process most enjoyable and smooth! The level of detail shown by Eve and her team was outstanding. The Lodges on the grounds enabled our guests to time to spend in a relaxed atmosphere the night before overlooking the picturesque Galtee Mountains, a setting that is so indescribably stunning. The staff were extremely professional throughout the weekend, Eve had everything organised to perfection. We were blessed with the weather. The Arrival’s Reception was hosted out on the Veranda with the most breath-taking views, quite simply enchanting. The Diarmuid & Grainne Suite was beautifully decorated. The Wedding Meal was absolutely delicious and the candy cart went down a real treat with the kids and adults too!  We are without a doubt thrilled to have had our Special Day at Aherlow House Hotel, they looked after us from the moment we booked right through to our Special Day! If you are thinking of a scenic venue with service and food to match look no further!”
