Kelly Murphy from Dooradoyle met Kildare man Peter Fitzsimons on a night out in Dublin and after numbers were swapped a date was planned and the couple have been together ever since. After years of making memories together, Peter knew that he would be lucky to spend his life with his Limerick lady.

“Peter took me away for the weekend for my birthday to Galway, our favourite place. We walked along by the river and stopped to watch the water and Peter proposed to me by the river. It was perfect. He gave me a token ring. We kept our engagement a secret for a week because I wanted to tell my family in person. The following weekend we drove to Limerick and picked out my engagement ring in Matthew Stephens and then went out to tell my family”, Kelly shares.

With a wonderful winter wedding theme in mind, a date was set for December 22, 2017 with a ceremony at St. Paul’s Church followed by a reception at the beautiful Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel and Spa.

A special mention- Bán Bridal

“My wedding dress was quite wrinkled after the journey from Cork to Limerick. I was told if I hang it wrinkles would come out. They did not come out at all, the week of the wedding I was beginning to panic as I needed to get dress steamed to get wrinkles out. I used a wedding Facebook page to search for advice. Éilis Cusack owner of Bán Bridal messaged me and told me bring in my dress and she would have a look at it. I did and she steamed it for me, she hung on to it for a few days and steamed it again and let me pick up the day before the wedding and it was perfect, wrinkle free. This woman was so kind to me. Thank you Éilis.”

“Christmas was the theme for our wedding. My mum and I made our centre pieces, we bought white lanterns, cut down leaves from a fir tree in the garden and out them into the lanterns, added pine cones, holly and cinnamon sticks. We added candles and sprayed the leaves with fake snow and added a Christmas robin on top of the lantern. The centrepieces smelled so nice on the day, real Christmas smell.

We had chocolate Santa’s as favours. We had Celina O’Sullivan from Celina’s Cakes make Christmas cake pops for the arrivals reception, we had mince pies and snowmen and our wedding cake was Christmas parcels.”, the creative bride shared.

“Where do I start with Mr Kenneth Baker, what a gentleman! The minute I met Kenneth I knew he was for us. We got on with him so well, I knew we would be comfortable with him. At our engagement shoot we had so much fun with him and he has great ideas and took on our style and themes on board. He even helped us design our invitation; he went above and beyond for us. He kept everyone smiling all day as he took photos. Thanks to him our day ran so smoothly, he kept everyone calm and relaxed. I cannot wait to get our album.”
